Electric vehicle innovation challenge, 'EVangelise'21' is inviting entrepreneurs, researchers, and start-ups working on a breakthrough solution across different stages of the EV technology value chain to turn their innovative ideas into a successful business model. Applications are now open for the design stage of EVangelise'21.

What is Evangelise' 21? 

The International Centre for Research and Entrepreneurship (iCreate) has organized a first-of-its-kind innovation challenge, "Evangelise" is aimed at identifying and nurturing some of the brightest minds in the country to use the power of innovation in addressing key problems facing the EV industry at Component level. Idea is to increase the efficiency at the component level by 25% The innovation challenge began in July 2021, and is currently ongoing, and will span over a period of seven months up till February 2022.

The applications are now open for the "Design Stage" of the challenge and the last date to submit the proposal is October 15, 2021.

Who can participate in EVangelise? 
The challenge is open for start-ups, college students, research institutions, independent innovators, and EV enthusiasts who have revolutionary innovations in sub-components used in 2W & 3W electric vehicles. It has been designed to cover the four sub-component levels of an electric vehicle: Electric Powertrain (motor + controller) Battery, BMS, and Hybrid Energy Storage Systems Regenerative Braking Systems, and Intelligent Vehicle Management Systems 

How can you submit a proposal? 
Currently, the participants will be able to simultaneously submit their proposals across two different stages: the Design stage, and the Build stage. 

How do winners stand to benefit? 
The top three winners will get cash prizes of INR 10 lakh, INR 7.5 lakh, and INR 5 lakh respectively, besides assured incubation support of INR 50 lakh each, and access to iCreate's facilities, market connects, and industry mentorship. The innovation challenge offers a total of INR 88.5 lakh as assured cash prizes to winners across the four categories and three stages. 

Who are the partners for Evangelise'21?

India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) has partnered with iCreate to present this opportunity to students, researchers, and start-ups.

iCreate is India's leading institution for transforming start-ups based on tech innovation into successful businesses. It is supported by the Govt. of Gujarat and the Govt. of India and is in a state-of-the-art 40-acre campus in Ahmedabad. To date, it has supported over 389 innovations and 30+ patents with a 'high-touch, entrepreneur first model, connecting them with mentors, markets, and money.
