Octopus Electroverse connects 850,000 EV chargers in Europe
Octopus Energy's EV charging platform 'Octopus Electroverse' has operationalized nearly 850,000 connected chargers in Europe, making it the largest EV charging network in the continent, according to the company.
With robust network already established in the United Kingdom, Octopus Electroverse expanded its pioneering 'one card, one app' model for EV charging for users across Europe in over 40 countries.
The platform is now integrated with 950 charge point brands, including InstaVolt, Osprey, IONITY, MFG, ChargePlace Scotland, as well as Aral pulse, TotalEnergies, Powerdot and Free To X.
Zoisa North-Bond of Octopus Electroverse commented on the latest milestone, "We created Electroverse with a clear mission: to make charging electric cars on-the-go as easy as possible. One card and one app – that's all drivers need to access nearly 850,000 chargers".
"Our customers love the slick experience and features we've rolled out over the years – but we won't stop here. We're nearing the 1 million mark and have become the largest consumer electric car charging platform in Europe – and we're geared up to rapidly accelerate this worldwide", he added.
Electroverse claims that its customer base almost tripled to about 180 percent over the last 12 months. In the UK, Octopus users can add their public charging costs onto their monthly bill. An online platform and customizable reporting function simplify EV charging for electric fleet operations.
Octopus Energy Group is at the forefront of low carbon transport initiatives in Europe. The Group's Octopus Electric Vehicles division is claimed as the UK's largest EV-only leasing business, while Octopus is a pioneer in smart tariffs for EVs.
The Group's 'Intelligent Octopus Go' tariff uses the energy giant's tech platform Kraken to charge EVs when the grid's greenest and cheapest. The company also launched the UK's first mass market vehicle-to-grid tariff 'Octopus Power Pack' for free home charging.
