Tata Technologies to help fast-track Agratas' battery development efforts

Tata Group subsidiaries Agratas and Tata Technologies recently announced their collaboration to scale former's product development and enterprise systems, to support the design, development and manufacturing of battery solutions e-mobility and energy storage. 

The collaboration seeks to leverage Tata Technologies' over 25 years of expertise in product development, digital engineering, digital manufacturing and product supply chain to accelerate Agratas' product development timelines, including integrating battery cells into modules and packs across multiple applications to match customer requirements.

The company is also developing digital business architectures to support the production of best-in-class battery solutions at Agratas' upcoming giga factories in India and the UK, along with support for sourcing skilled human resources for the battery maker. 

The alliance embodies the cross-Tata Group mission to develop a holistic e-mobility ecosystem that will advance the production and adoption of EVs in India and worldwide, according to the companies.

It is to be noted that Agratas is expected to commence battery cell production in 2026, with Tata Motors and JLR brands as its prime customers to start with.
