Tata Motors delivers first batch of Ace EV to its fleet customers

Homegrown auto major Tata Motors delivered the first fleet of the new Ace EV to leading e-commerce, FMCG and courier companies, and their logistics service providers at an event in New Delhi. The companies include Amazon, Amplus EV, Delhivery, DHL (Express & Supply Chain), FedEx, Flipkart, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, MoEVing, Safexpress and Trent Limited. 

The new Ace EV, unveiled in May 2022 and co-developed in rich collaboration with its users, is said to have successfully completed stringent real-world market trials. The battery-electric mini truck is priced at ₹ 9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) including FAME II incentives.

Supported by a diligently curated ecosystem, the Ace EV comes with a holistic solution for hassle free e-cargo mobility and 5-year comprehensive maintenance package. The EV's supporting ecosystem includes development and deployment of charging infrastructure, setting up of dedicated Electric Vehicle Support Centres for maximum fleet uptime, deployment of Tata Fleet Edge fleet management services ,and Tata UniEVerse support for financing. 

Flagging the first fleet of Ace EVs, Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors, said, "The introduction of the Ace EVs on Indian roads marks a big step forward in the journey towards zero-emission cargo mobility".

The company has said that the vehicle will be initially available for corporate fleet buyers only. Retail sales of the EV from its dealerships will commence later, once adequate charging and service infrastructure are put in place, it added.

Tata Ace EV is powered by a 21.3kWh Lithium Iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack with liquid cooling system. A 27kW (36hp) motor with 130Nm of peak torque drives power to the rear wheels. The truck claims a pure-electric driving range of 154 kms in full charge, supported by the both regular (home) and fast-charging technologies.
