Livguard makes strategic acquisition of EV battery solutions firm Emuron Technologies

Indian energy storage solutions firm Livguard has announced its strategic acquisition of Emuron Technologies, an innovator in battery swapping and battery intelligence with proprietary portfolio of solutions for E2Ws and E3Ws. 

The acquisition marks a significant step in Livguard's commitment to sustainable mobility by providing innovative solutions in the said EV battery solutions space. The company is part of the SAR Group, which recently ventured into the electric two-wheeler market with 'Lectrix' EV.

Rakesh Malhotra, Founder of Livguard, commented on the development, "We firmly believe that battery swapping will play a pivotal role in accelerating the adoption of electric two- and three- wheelers in India".

At the recently held India Energy Storage Week 2023 event, energy storage solutions company Livguard took part as a distinguished exhibitor by showcasing some of its latest and advanced products in the EV battery and home energy storage space.

"Acquiring Emuron Technologies will help us in leveraging their battery swapping technology alongside our battery expertise. Our comprehensive solutions, combined with our EV subsystems portfolio, position us as a one-stop shop for all 2 and 3-Wheeler EV OEMs", he added.

Expressing his delight, Kunal Garg, Co-Founder and CEO of Emuron Technologies, said, "We are delighted to strategically partner with Livguard. This collaboration allows us to rapidly deploy battery swapping stations, leveraging Livguard's pan-India distribution and service network. We aim to manufacture cost-competitive solutions through Livguard's well-established supply chain ecosystem."

The acquisition is expected to co-create a unique energy services (battery) eco-ystem for the electric two- and three-wheeler industry in India.
