Jürgen Nowicki, EVP Linde plc and CEO of Linde Engineering, along with H.E. Sharif Al Olama, UAE Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, at the Linde’s office in Pullach, Germany.

Global industrial gas and engineering firm Linde has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure to identify and develop projects that will contribute to MOEI's Energy Strategy 2050 and the UAE Net Zero Initiative for achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

The company added that the joint projects will focus on four main areas of hydrogen mobility, carbon capture and storage, green hydrogen production through electrolysis, and hydrogen blending with natural gas.

"The UAE recognises Clean Energy as the main pillar of sustainability and a priority in the country, said H.E. Sharif Al Olama, UAE Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs. "In line with our Net-Zero ambitions and the UAE Hydrogen Leadership roadmap, the UAE seeks to accelerate the adoption of the latest innovations to face climate change and accelerate the energy transition. Partnerships with the private sector are key in helping us achieve this".

Juergen Nowicki, EVP Linde plc and CEO of Linde Engineering said, "Linde has a long-standing presence in UAE and we are committed to supporting the country's ambitious decarbonization targets".

"By using our local and global capabilities across the whole hydrogen and CCS value chains, we will be able to serve industry and mobility customers as they transition to clean energy, while ensuring the safety, reliability and efficiency standards that our customers value us for", he added.

Linde claims to cover the entire spectrum of the hydrogen value chain and help its customers and industries to navigate through the complexities of the transition to a zero-carbon economy, green hydrogen at the center of its energy strategy.
