The India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) announced the alliance has tied up with a host of agencies, including Messe Muenchen India (MMI), Solar Promotion International (SPI), and Freiburg Management and Marketing International to organize the EV Asia Expo.

The expo will take place over 21-23 February 2024 at the Helipad Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The conference will be hosted in Hotel Leela, Gandhinagar, from 20-23 February 2024. The inaugural edition of EV Asia Expo is expected to attract more than 150 exhibitors from across the world and in excess of 10,000 trade visitors over 8,000+ sq mts of exhibition space.

Under the agreement, both companies will also curate focussed conferences for the energy storage and electric mobility sectors.

IESA, founded by Customized Energy Solutions (CES) in 2012, has an extensive network of more than 160 member companies encompassing industry verticals from energy storage, EV manufacturing, EV charging infrastructure, green hydrogen, microgrids, power electronics, renewable energy, research institutes and universities, and cleantech startups.

Earlier this year, the alliance launched the India Electric Mobility Council (IEMC), a dedicated electric mobility and EV Infrastructure platform with an all-inclusive, technology-agnostic approach catering to EV ecosystem stakeholders including EV OEMs, components providers, charging infrastructure and battery swapping companies.

Signing the agreement, Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, President and MD, IESA and CES, said, "The clean energy movement is gaining momentum today, and India will be one of the world's largest markets for clean energy technologies like battery manufacturing, energy storage, and electric vehicles… We are happy to join forces with MMI to represent all our member companies."

Bhupinder Singh, CEO of Messe Muenchen India, said, "The partnership's significance is that it establishes a specialized platform for electric vehicles (EVs) in India. By leveraging IESA's extensive network of over 160 member companies and institutions in renewable energy, this collaboration aims to attract global EV-focused exhibitors and visitors… This will bring the German expertise and fills a void in the Indian EV industry's international trade fair scene. Our joint plan includes hosting conferences on energy storage and electric mobility market opportunities, aligning with India's goal of achieving Net Zero by 2070. Together, we are determined to bolster the industry's power and potential."

Messe München GmbH, together with its subsidiary companies, organizes trade fairs in China, India, Brazil, Africa, Turkey, and Vietnam. With a network of associated companies in Europe, Asia and South America, and with around 69 representative offices across 132 countries, Messe München has a truly global presence.

The company has been organizing trade fairs since 1964, and is one of the leading exhibition organizers worldwide, with nearly 40 of its own trade shows for capital goods, consumer goods and new technologies.
