EV startup Electron EV has announced its foray into the Indian market to roll out battery-electric light, medium, and heavy commercial vehicles. Founded in 2020 by Vinay Jayachand and Rakesh Koneru, the company claims to be based out of Bay Area, USA and Hyderabad, working on advanced powertrain systems for sustainable transportation.

The announcement includes plans to introduce its proprietary EV technology and end-to-end mobility solutions in markets like India, South East Asia, Australia and Europe. The company's product portfolio will consist of light, medium, and heavy-duty commercial vehicles like delivery vans, trucks, and buses.

Electron EV claims that about 500 commercial EVs are already running in the US, and the brand will also be introducing its unique services including customized EVs, fleet management solutions, digital and IoT solutions, real-time data analytics, and charging infrastructure in the emerging Indian market.

Rakesh Koneru, Founder, ElectronEV, said, "India is emerging as the largest and fastest growing market for EVs. That is why our products will cater to the demand for B2B and B2C segments in India. ElectronEV plans to introduce its proprietary EV technology through its electric vehicles and end-to-end mobility solutions for markets like India, South East Asia, Australia, and Europe".

The company's approach to EVs include smart and modular heavy-duty battery with intelligent adaptive chassis and software-driven powertrain. To provide higher production volumes closer to target customers, ElectronEV claims to adopt a manufacturing strategy of setting up micro-factories in conjunction with a modular technology stack.
