Delta Electronics celebrates 6,000 EV charger deployment milestone in India

Delta Electronics India Private Limited has announced that it has cumulatively delivered over 6,000 electric vehicle chargers to various customers across the country so far. A global leader in power and thermal management solutions, Delta claims to closely cooperate with major stakeholders in the EV charging infrastructure sector including charge point operators and OEMs to foster India's e-mobility transition.

Delta's unparalleled track record in integrating energy-saving solutions with its wide EV charger portfolio has been integral in its success in becoming a preferred EV charging solution partner in the country, the company adds.

Benjamin Lin, Delta Electronics India's President & GM, remarked on the latest achievement. "Our deepest gratitude goes to our local partners and government entities as we collaborate relentlessly to build e-mobility, a major pillar of India's sustainable future. Guided by its corporate mission, Delta strives to develop the foundations of sustainable cities, such as eco-friendly and healthy buildings, green energy infrastructure, smart factories, eco-friendly ICT infrastructure, as well as e-mobility".

He further said, "We also welcome government initiatives to develop the local manufacturing sector, and in fact, Delta India's R&D and engineering teams are working on more and more indigenous solutions, such as battery swapping systems for electric scooters as well as fast EV chargers. We intend to increase the localized content of our product and solution offering to 80 percent within few years".

Delta has delivered over 1 million EV chargers worldwide since 2009, and has become a renowned provider of automotive powertrain and power management electronics to global EV makers. For the Indian market, the company is offering a complete range of EV chargers for 4-wheelers and e-buses in single- and dual-gun configurations, compatible with all available electric 4-wheelers in the market today.

As a total solutions provider, Delta has supplied more than 1,000 chargers for Tata Power Company Limited; over 60 EV chargers for several sites operated by EESL (CESL); and some 114 EV chargers to BESCOM (Bangalore Power Utility Organization) so far. The company has also worked on a project featuring 11 fast chargers at a single site for one of the largest bus OEMs in India, and has supplied a portfolio of EV chargers to a Kerala State utility company for deployment across the state.

Delta says that it offers a one-stop solution in enabling EV charging infrastructure, from site survey to designing the specifications, installation and aftersales service. Furthermore, Delta is also one of the first providers of fully-integrated EV charging solutions in India with solar PV inverters, energy storage systems, and energy management software, it adds.

The company is also enhancing its R&D and manufacturing capabilities in India, with more than 50 percent content of its product offerings locally-manufactured in India at present. 

To accelerate EV adoption in India, Delta vows to remain at the forefront of the EV charging infrastructure development in the country. It claims to have a robust roadmap for the country with state-of-the-art technology and products with faster charging capabilities.
