CASE 2030 5.0 Elara India-IESA Automobile Conference discoursed on future of EV market

Elara Capital Plc, in collaboration with India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) as knowledge partner, recently held the fifth edition of CASE 2030 Elara India Automobile Conference on 9 January 2023 at the Grand Hyatt, Santacruz, Mumbai, and on 10 January 2023, by way of a virtual session. 

Elara India Automobile Conference has been tracking the success of the automotive industry over the course of four prior editions, and the latest edition was set to gauge transformative technologies, government policies, changing customer preferences and a post COVID-19 order for the sector. 

Businesses as key elements of the new value chain - connected, autonomous, ride-sharing and electric (CASE) cars equipped with Wi-Fi, AI-led navigation, and hybrid or lower emission enabled electric vehicles, play a vital role. 

To this aim, Elara Capital showcased India's best investment opportunities to global institutional investors, front-lining a train of luminary minds. With more than 300 global investor relationships and a robust sales and trading desk across asset classes and major geographies (the UK, Singapore, the US, Dubai and India), CASE 2030 5.0 sought to seamlessly interweave leading automobile experts and technology innovators with foreign and domestic institutional investors, through thought-provoking dialogue. 

The conference saw good participation from the investor community with an opportunity to provide them a much-sought platform for mapping mega trends in the industry. Speakers who shared their perspective on the current and future scenario of the EV market included Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, President India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), Kuldip Gangurde, Regional Sales Manager West Switch Mobility, Hirdesh Thakur, Founding Member Pinnacle Mobility, Prasanna Patwardhan, Chairperson & Managing Director Prasanna Purple, Awadhesh Kumar Jha, Vice President Fortum India, Vipul Shah, Senior General Manager Fuel Cells India BOSCH, Haresh Bhere, Chief Technology Officer JIO BP, Manuj Khurana, VP Capital Allocation Ather Energy, Arun Pratap Singh, Founder and COO Matter's EV 2W and Dr. Ajit Kumar Jindal, Advisor E-Mobility New Products and Technology TATA Autocomp Systems.

The event saw various insightful sessions providing an overview of the EV market and its various segments including electric buses, E2W, E3W, EV passenger cars, and e-cargo commercial vehicles. Other themes of the discussions were charging infrastructure, fuel cells opportunity for automotive applications, EV components and TACO's role in it. The opportunities, challenges, and the way forward in the EV market under these segments were discussed in detail.

On 10th January, the conference was conducted on a virtual platform. S. Vijay Anand, President New Energy Business Amara Raja Batteries, Delli Babu, CFO Amara Raja Batteries, Jaideep Wadhwa, Director Sterling Tools, Pankaj Gupta, CFO Sterling Tools, Naveen Kumar Singh, CEO Napino Auto Electronics, Chetan Pathak, AVP Log9 Materials, Ankush Raina, VP Log9 Materials and Nikhil Bhatia, Co-Founder & COO Hop Electric Mobility were the eminent speakers who led the discussion. 

Vijay Anand and Chetan Pathak spoke on outlook of Li-ion batteries and their role in it, while Pankaj Gupta, Jaideep Wadhwa and Naveen Kumar Singh spoke about their role in EV component space. Nikhil Bhatia shared about his company's journey in domestic E2W space.

Overall, the conference was well appreciated by over 100 investor participants, with some of them also opting to meet the speakers over a one-on-one session for in depth understanding of the sector.
