Buehler Motor's development expertise in the field of electric drive technology and micro-mobility and Uno Minda's exceptional customer and market knowledge in the Indian region form the basis for the collaboration, according to the companies.

The start of production is scheduled for the end of 2023. By then, a joint production plant and a local supply chain will be established, they added.

"Uno Minda has been in continuous pursuit for new and advance technologies facilitating smarter, cleaner and safer transportation. We are extremely delighted to partner with Buehler to enhance our electric vehicle offerings. This partnership will help us combine our engineering expertise and technologies to accelerate localisation and manufacturing of traction motors for Indian automotive market," said Nirmal K Minda, Chairman & Managing Director, Uno Minda Group.

"With Uno Minda, the Bühler Motor Group has a strong player, a first-tier supplier, at its side for entry into the Indian market. Together we want to further focus our strategic goal of expanding our target markets in the field of E-micromobility, thus ensuring the sustainable and globally balanced growth of the Group," said Mark Furtwängler, Managing Partner of Bühler Motor GmbH.

UNO Minda manufactures and supplies over 20 categories of automotive components to leading Indian and international OEMs based in India, Asia, South and North America and Europe. With Bühler Motor's technology and innovative development, the JV is expected to make a big impact in the domestic e-mobility landscape dominated by E2Ws and E3Ws.
