Blitz Motors, one of the largest manufacturers of smart electric scooters in Israel, has announced the signing of an agreement with Addionics, a company specializing in chemical-agnostic battery technology.

The aim is to jointly develop AI-optimized Smart 3D Electrodes to increase range, reduce charging time and reduce production costs for its fleet of smart electric scooters.

Addionics designs and manufactures Smart 3D Electrodes that are compatible with any existing or emerging chemistry-based technology. Unlike most companies that focus on optimizing batteries using chemistry, Addionics focuses on the physics of the battery. The company's award-winning approach to new battery design improves all key battery performance metrics, including increased energy density and performance, improved safety, and extended life - all without increasing costs. Addionics' patented electrode manufacturing process is cost-effective and scalable, and as a drop-in solution, the Smart 3D Electrodes are compatible with existing battery manufacturing facilities and assembly lines.

Under the terms of the agreement, Addionics will supply Blitz with Smart 3D Electrodes to jointly develop lithium-ion batteries for Blitz's fleet of smart electric scooters. A prototype is scheduled for completion in 2023.

"We've spent years looking for the right partner to help us optimize battery performance and costs for our fleet of electric scooters so we can better serve our customers in the commercial and government sectors," said Raphael Moszynski, CEO of Blitz Motors.

"Two-wheel vehicles are subject to significantly higher wear and tear in a much shorter time than four-wheel vehicles. Addionics helps us maximize the life of our batteries by increasing range, reducing charge times, and improving overall safety."

"Addionics' Smart 3D Electrodes offer a significant technological advantage in the EV transition, delivering outstanding benefits in terms of range, charge speed, and battery price without compromising on safety," said Moshiel Biton, CEO of Addionics.
